Roy Lloyd is a founding director and president of the International Forgiveness Institute. He is professional communications executive with extensive industry background in marketing and media relations. Among his high-profile activities are his service as media officer for the Jesse Jackson trip to Belgrade to gain the release of three American soldiers held by the Milošević regime and as the media officer for the Cuban grandmothers of Elián González as they visited America, including extensive visits with U.S. Senators and Representatives. He has served as executive producer of numerous network television programs and as producer and host of Public Television’s Perspectives series. He earned a Gold Award and a Bronze Award from the International Film & TV Festival of New York, the International Peace and Justice Award from the Rainbow Push Coalition and numerous other professional recognitions. He has several graduate degrees in education, communications and theology. He is a regular commentator on all-news radio station 1010 WINS in New York City and he has appeared, with Desmond Tutu, on Good Morning America, CNN, Religion and Ethics Newsweekly, Live with Regis and Kelly and many other programs. He is deeply committed to the study and practical application of forgiveness, believing that forgiveness is the key to a future of positive interpersonal understanding and community building.
