Executive Director, South Oakland Shelter

Ryan Hertz is a social worker and non-profit manager, working on the issues of human rights, poverty and social/environmental justice. He currently serves as the Executive Director for South Oakland Shelter (SOS), an organization committed to reducing the impact and prevalence of homelessness in Metro Detroit. Ryan is actively involved in several community initiatives, sitting on the Board of Directors at the Alliance for Housing, Ferndale Housing Commission, and Upland Hills School. He is also principal of EcoZoic L3C, a consultancy supporting indigenous communities of the Americas in the development of social enterprise.
