Sara Robinson is one of the few trained social futurists in North America. Her skill set includes trend analysis, scenario development, futures research, social change theories, systems thinking, and strategic planning. She holds an MS in Futures Studies from the University of Houston and a BA in Journalism from the USC Annenberg School of Communication, and has worked as a columnist or editor for several national magazines.

Sara's work often appears online at Firedoglake, DailyKos, OpenLeft, and Alternet; and has also recently been in print at The Progressive Christian and Survival: The Journal of the International Institute of Strategic Studies. She was David Neiwert's co-blogger in covering authoritarian and extremist movements at Orcinus, during which she cultivated her special interest in the politics and sociology of change resistance. She is a consulting partner with the Cognitive Policy Works in Seattle; and a Fellow with both the Campaign for America's Future and the Commonweal Institute.

A native of California's eastern High Sierra, Sara spent 20 years in Silicon Valley before moving to Vancouver, BC in 2004. She shares her life with her husband Evan, two teenagers, and a Norwegian Buhund who is her usual companion.
