Award-winning freelance actor, director and writer

Scott Plate (AEA, SAG/AFTRA) lives in Cleveland OH, and is an award-winning freelance actor, director, and writer whose work is featured frequently on Northeast Ohio's stages. Regionally, his work has appeared on stages at the Alliance Theatre, Seven Stages and the Actors' Express in Atlanta, in Boise at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and on North Carolina's Outer Banks in The Lost Colony. As actor, director or writer, he has worked on over 150 productions in Cleveland at such venues as Severance Hall, Playhouse Square, The Cleveland Play House, The Beck Center for the Arts, Dobama Theatre, and Cleveland Public Theatre. He has helped to develop acclaimed solo performance works Green Eyes, Just Like You and Me, Black Virgins Are Not For Hipsters, and Exact Change, which appeared at the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival. An active voice-over artist, he has over two hundred on-camera and voice-over credits in local, national and international commercials and industrial films. He currently serves as Department Chair of Interdisciplinary Studies at Baldwin Wallace University.
