Sharon Powell spent 20 years in the US Navy as an enlisted photojournalist. After the military she earned her master’s degree in psychology and worked with homeless males in a county run homeless shelter for four years. Currently she is working on a nonfiction book about blacks who served during WW II. She is a freelance writer living in Raleigh, NC. She also writes a blog about WWII service members.
