Sherry Bebitch Jeffe

Sherry Bebitch Jeffe is Senior Fellow, School of Policy, Planning and Development at the University of Southern California and the political analyst for KNBC, Los Angeles.

In the 2000 election cycle she also served as political analyst for NBC4 in Washington, D.C. and for BBC Scotland and BBC Wales; she continues to serve as American politics analyst for Today on BBC Scotland, and on other BBC Scotland, BBC Wales, BBC London and BBC World Service programs.

During the 2003 California recall election Dr. Jeffe served as recall analyst for NBC’s Today show.

Prior to her affiliation with NBC, she served as political analyst for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles.

Dr. Jeffe regularly writes and comments on American and California government and politics in the state, national and international media.

In 2006, she was a nominee for the Los Angeles Area Emmy Award, for news feature “Decision 2005: A Voter’s Guide,” NBC4.

Prior to her affiliation with USC, Dr. Jeffe taught political science at Claremont Graduate University, Loyola Marymount University, and Pitzer College.

She holds a Ph. D. in government from Claremont Graduate University, and a master's degree in political science from Rutgers University, where she was a Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics; her B.A. in political science is from Goucher College.
