Siamak Sam Loni

UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) & Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI)

Siamak Sam Loni is a sustainable development consultant, who currently serves as an officer with the Monash Sustainable Development Institute. In 2015, he was appointed as the Global Coordinator of the youth division (SDSN Youth) of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN); an initiative that was launched by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2012 to mobilize global expertise around the SDGs. In that capacity, Sam also serves as a member (ex-officio) of the SDSN Global Leadership Council. Additionally, he is an Executive Committee Member of SDSN Australia/Pacific. Finally, Sam is an advisory member of the Alpbach-Laxenburg Group (ALG), an expert group led by IIASA, in the development of the 'World in 2050' project. Sam writes about a range of issues and thematic areas, including; Children and Youth; Sustainable Development; Peace & Security, and International Humanitarian Law.
