Sidney Hankerson, MD, MBAhttp://www.sidneyhankerson.com is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. His research is focused on reducing stigma and increasing access to treatment for major depression. He has a federally funded study to train African American clergy how to identify and refer depressed community members to mental health care.

Dr. Hankerson was recently appointed to the Council of Faith and Community Partnerships and the Council of Mental Health Care Disparities of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). His professional affiliations include the American Psychiatric Association, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Black Psychiatrists of Greater New York & Associates.
