Desi Sikh immigrant American Feminist

Simran Kaur-Colbert is a Desi-Sikh-immigrant-American-feminist with a passion for social justice. She received her undergraduate degrees in International Relations and Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington. In December 2014 she graduated with her Master's degree from the University of Kentucky's Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. During her time at Patterson Simran was selected to intern with the Department of the Army's Center of Military History in Washington, D.C.

Simran is a distinguished sister of the Delta Phi Mu Sorority, Inc. committed to supporting all women and multicultural expansion. Simran and her Husband Jarrod Colbert live in the Bluegrass, Commonwealth of Kentucky where both actively participate in social justice efforts in their community to address issues related to hunger, affordable housing, community-police relations and #BlackLivesMatter. They both enjoy their time visiting museums, spending time at their local library and cheering on the UK WILDCATS Basketball team.
