Sissela Bok is a moral philosopher of international renown, celebrated not only for her exploration of “practical ethics” on key but neglected dimensions of moral life but also for her continued engagement with pressing public concerns. She taught philosophy at Brandeis University and has received a number of honorary degrees and awards. A former member of the Pulitzer Prize Board, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. Bok’s books include "Lying: Moral Choice in Public Life," now in its third edition and widely acknowledged as one of the seminal books in philosophy of the past century. Her new book, "Exploring Happiness: From Aristotle to Brain Science," has just been published by Yale University Press.
