Sangwon Suh

Professor, Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara

Dr. Suh earned his PhD in industrial ecology in Leiden University in the Netherlands, taught at Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Minnesota, and is currently a professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is interested in understanding the interactions between the economy and the environment through production, consumption, and use of products. Dr. Suh served the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as a Coordinating Lead Author for its 5th Assessment Report, and he is a member of the International Resource Panel (IRP) of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). He is interested in translating current issues of scientific literature to publicly accessible forms. The subject of his writings includes global sustainability, climate change, supply-chain management, sustainable use of chemicals, sustainable procurement, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.
