The Stone Twins

Art Directors, Authors

The Stone Twins is an Amsterdam-based creative partnership founded by twin brothers Declan and Garech Stone (born Dublin, 1970).

The Stone Twins create corporate identities, promotions for events, packaging for music and book design. The core of The Stone Twins’ work is graphic design but they frequently deviate into other creative fields such as writing (e.g. Logo R.I.P.), art-direction (freelance for advertising agencies) and curation (‘Underground’ exhibition at Zeeuws Museum). The common thread in all their assignments is an emphasis on a creative concept that encourages engagement on a social and intellectual level with a broad audience.

Alongside running their studio, Declan and Garech are also Head of the Department of ‘Man and Communication’ at Design Academy Eindhoven. A position held since 2008.

In 2009, several of The Stone Twins designs were obtained by the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. In 2012 the revised and updated edition of their book 'Logo R.I.P.' was launched in the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York.
