Trey Radel

Trey Radel is founder of the Trey Radel Media Group, a TV News journalist, radio show host & former U.S. Congressman from Florida.

Trey Radel’s public life is as diverse and electrifying as his personal side.

Trey has backpacked parts of the world living off 10-bucks day, learned a few languages, had a stellar career in TV, radio and print, and was elected to Congress, all by his mid-30s.

Known for his passion, engaging personality and personable demeanor, Radel built a tremendously successful career in media. As a TV News Reporter, he interviewed Presidents of countries to companies, was shot in the ass with a rubber bullet covering riots in Miami and covered numerous hurricanes. Yes, he’s been the reporter that makes you ask yourself, “What’s that idiot doing out there?” As an Anchor, Trey never quite had the sweet suits Ron Burgundy pulled off, but he did have success launching two new newscasts in the market and served as the station's Political Reporter.

Bored with TV, Radel tried his hand as an entrepreneur, this time building a new company as a Newspaper Publisher. In a little more than a year, as he began to build and rapidly expand his newspaper, Trey sold the company to a large media conglomerate.

Following TV and print, Radel went on to radio, hosting one of Florida’s premier talk shows, doing four hours of live talk every weekday covering politics to pop culture.

The fierce patriot then had the opportunity to fulfill a life long dream - to serve our country. Tired of standing on the sidelines, Radel ran for the U.S. Congress. The underdog won big, building a massive coalition of people cutting across generational, ethnic and cultural lines.

Personally and professionally, Radel’s love for people, places and especially foreign cultures has taken him from South America to Southeast Asia and about everywhere in between. Fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, he has lived in, worked in or backpacked through nearly fifty countries around the world. He has been held at gunpoint, eaten tacos de sesos from street vendors in Mexico, fried bugs in Thailand and once got onto the Roman Colosseum floor at three in the morning when it wasn’t necessarily “open.”

While Trey has been known to have quick wit, he sharpened those skills studying improv comedy at the famed Second City in Chicago. During his time in Chicago, he also played mediocre rhythm guitar in a band and sang terrible backing vocals. Still today, Trey produces mediocre music that you probably won’t like, including music for corporate advertising to hip hop and house tracks. You can find some of his music right here on this site.

In a life filled with ups and downs, Radel took his skill set, history and real life experience and started the Trey Radel Media Group (clever name, huh?). While the company handles a wide array of responsibilities, including media training, crisis communications, marketing and branding, Radel’s niche is working intimately and personally with C-level executives and athletes.

Trey began working at a young age in the family business, the funeral industry. While that may sound dark, Radel says he is an eternal optimist with a profound sense of just how short life can be. He tries to live everyday to its fullest, saying “Life has ups. Life has downs. Hang on tight, especially to your sense of humor.”
