Valerie Sullivan is a freelance writer, editor, and founder of For The Love Of Linguistics.

Valerie holds an M.F.A. in Writing from Vanderbilt University, where she was the recipient of a university fellowship and full tuition award. At Vanderbilt, Valerie taught an undergraduate class in fiction writing and worked as a Graduate Writing Consultant to undergraduates, master’s candidates, and doctoral students. She received her B.A. in English from Tufts University, where she worked as a Writing Fellow and served as Executive Business Director of The Tufts Daily. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Political and Public Affairs Reporting from Boston University.

Valerie has lived in New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, Tennessee, the District of Columbia, and France. She is currently settled in Southern California, where she lives with her husband and their cat, Elliot.
