Whitney Kassel

Whitney Kassel is a Director focused on strategic analysis and risk management at The Arkin Group, a private intelligence firm in New York City. Before moving to the private sector, Whitney spent four years at the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she focused on Special Operations, Counterterrorism, and Pakistan policy. During this time she spent a year in Pakistan working for the Office of the Defense Representative and Special Operations Command Forward. She also served as the representative of the Secretary of Defense to General Stanley McChrystal's Strategic Assessment Team in Afghanistan in 2009.

Whitney holds a Masters degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College in 2003. Prior to graduate school, she worked at the Polish Ukrainian Cooperation Initiative in Kyiv, Ukraine, and at the Council on Foreign Relations.
