4 Million People Find Video Evidence of Child Abuse Hilarious

Like television, YouTube can be a force for good, for evil or just plain stupidity. The following video was shot by a theoretically loving father as his young son suffers the effects of dental medication post-visit. It's like America's Funniest Home Videos, only this version makes you feel sad inside.

Here's the clip:

That video, by the way, is a finalist for VideoSurf.com's Viral Video of the Week. Follow the link, cast your vote. The Dems own Nancy Pelosi made the finals along with a freakishly talented Mexican wrestler. Trust me. They belong together.

Oh please. Child abuse? Taking your kid to the dentist is child abuse? I remember my own trip(s) to the dentist at that age. My earliest childhood dentist was a guy who'd give you novocaine, not wait for it to work, drill, fill, and send you on your way. You got numb on your way back out to the car. Not fun. After that, we started going to a guy who was a big fan of the nitrous -- and I remember me, my brother, and my sister ALL having episodes like this afterward. I wish my folks HAD filmed it. This video is hilarious. The kid is cute. Hysterical much?

How ridiculous to call this child abuse. Not taking the child to the dentist, or having taken him to have a tooth removed without medication would have been abusive.

I'm with MiamiMod, I can't see how this amounts to child abuse. I think the dad did a great job of explaining to his son what must have been a bewildering situation for the kid. Baratunde, could you explain to us why this is child abuse?

Sorry, I don't think it's child abuse to film the results of medication, given legally to prevent pain, on a child. My childhood dentist memories are traumatic because of the pain - and the distinct feeling that
our "family" dentist was enjoying what he was inflicting. This child is adorable and that's why so many
people love the video. Maybe some parents will reconsider having their children medicated for dental
surgery, but I hope not.
