Entering its fifth year of awesomeness, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival is bringing some hilarious comics to Portland, Oregon. I am so excited to go because some of my favorite comedians in the entire universe (not exaggerating) are going to perform. This year will feature Mary Lynn Rajskub, Todd Barry, Mary Mack, Dan Mintz and, one of all time favorite my comedy heroes, Maria Bamford among many other brilliant comics.

In less than two weeks, the festival spans April 12th-15th and utilizes nine cool venues mostly within walking distance of each other. Last year was my first year that I was lucky enough to get to go and it was just like a big city-wide comedy party. Being from Seattle, it was more comedians in one place than I had ever really encountered. I was impressed by the level of talent, the quality of production of the shows, the professionalism of everyone involved and the general environment of creativity.

The headliners on this lineup are incredible, and so are the local comedians. It's a wonderfully unique and talented compilation of comics from all over the country. It's some of the funniest comics working today, and the festival is so fun for performers and audience alike. My main goal this year is to not show everyone how shy and out of my depth I am. Or maybe my goal should be to learn how to be funny. I should make a list.

In any case, I'm a combination of nervous, excited, honored and thrilled to be a part of such an awesome experience and to get to see so much great comedy. I can't wait to get down there.
