Whether you're PRObama, NObama, or still undecided, 52 Reasons to Vote for Obama gives you all the information you need to share with friends, debate with relatives and decide for yourself as we head toward one of the most important elections of our lifetime. I'll post a new reason in random order every Monday through Friday from now 'til the election.

Over the course of a campaign, presidential candidates make hundreds of promises, so many, in fact, that it's hard to keep count. Good thing we have PolitiFact, an independent, Pulitzer Prize-winning project of the Tampa Bay Times. PolitiFact "help(s) you find the truth in [American] politics. Every day, reporters and researchers from PolitiFact and its partner news organizations examine statements by members of Congress, state legislators, governors, mayors, the president, cabinet secretaries, lobbyists... We research their statements and then rate the accuracy on our Truth-O-Meter."

2012-09-04-promise.jpgThey have also been tracking more than five hundred promises that Barack Obama made on the campaign trail, and the results may surprise even the most fervent Obama supporter.

As president, Barack Obama has kept, compromised, or is currently working on an astounding 74 percent of his campaign promises, the equivalent of a Presidential batting title. Another 12 percent are stalled, often in the face of Congressional inaction. Just looking at the pledges that PolitiFact judged as the most important of the campaign, the president has an equally compelling record, delivering in some way on twenty of the top twenty-five.

What's all the more impressive is that the president was able to amass such an impressive record in the face of extraordinary resistance from a Republican House that frequently voted against him on party-line votes, and a Senate where sixty votes are often necessary to get anything done.

Barack Obama keeps his promises.

Mitt Romney seems to have trouble even remembering the promises he's made.

So who ya gonna trust?
