At one time in history, quotation marks served a single purpose: they were used for quoting people. But from my experience assembling both "The Book of 'Unnecessary' Quotation Marks" and curating a "blog" of the same name, I can tell you that people are developing new and exciting ways to use the quotation mark every day. In fact, there are literally "millions" of ways to use these little word adornments to express yourself. They pop up where you least expect them, so keep an eye out as you go about your day, as you shop, eat, work, drive, and, um, "do your business." Here are some prime examples:
