New Art Hub Emerges Downtown

With Night Gallery, François Ghebaly Gallery's new space, and The Mistake Room all within walking distance around East Washington, a new art hub debuts downtown this weekend.

Opening reception for an exhibition of new large-scale sculptures, paintings, installations by Los Angeles-based artist Joel Kyack. View a trailer for the exhibition here. This is the first exhibition in the newly-renovated Francois Ghebaly Gallery. The new 12,000 square foot venue was built in 1942 and remodeled under the supervision of architect François Perrin. On view through March 8, 2014.

Oscar Murillo: Distribution Center
Mistake Room (Downtown)

The Mistake Room inaugurates its programming with an exhibition of works by Colombian-born, London-based artist Oscar Murillo. For Distribution Center, Murillo explores making by approaching it as a practice or form of work through the physical and conceptual structure of the 4,500 square foot site. The Mistake Room will focus on an international program of art and thought. On view through April 12, 2014.
