Taking place on the second Thursday of each month, the Downtown Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of the many art spaces in Downtown Los Angeles - commercial art galleries, museums, and nonprofit arts venues. Visit the website for full list of special events.
Rethink LA: Moving Beyond Cars
A+D Museum (Miracle Mile)

Rethink LA is teaming up with GOOD, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, Dublab, DeLab, Green Aid, Architects Newspaper, Tommy B, APA-LA, and the A+D Museum for an event that shows how L.A. can move beyond cars. The event is taking place at the exhibition Rethink LA: Perspectives on a Future City, which envisions a Los Angeles fifty years in the future. Rethink LA is challenging everyone who attends to use alternative transportation for a "car free party."
SUPER iam8bit
iam8bit (Echo Park)
7-11pm
SUPER iam8bit is both the name of an exhibition opening and a book that will go on sale for the first time during opening night. The exhibit is designed to celebrate the place of videogames in culture, especially the games from the 1980s.
I Love LA: Photographs
The Wilshire Grand Hotel (Downtown)

Opening reception for the 42 artists and 50 works of "I Love LA." This is an opportunity to meet the artists, view or buy their works, and purchase a copy of the exhibition book.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 13
The Hudson Block Party
The Hudson (West Hollywood)
1-11pm
A full day of bands, DJ's, food, and two full bars outside of The Hudson. Also, several street artists will be on hand to showcase their work, and a live art piece will be created and auctioned off to benefit a local charity. Tickets can be purchased at the event for $7 before 4pm and $10 thereafter.
Closing Reception and Screening: Heretics Television Workshop
Monte Vista (Highland Park)
6-10pm
A screening of footage from the Heretics Television Workshop, where John P. Hogan and David Reich converted Monte Vista into a video production studio, exhibition space, and performance venue in service of creating Heretics Lost, a five-episode art-video rock musical miniseries.
