Civic Virtue: The Impact of the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and the Watts Towers Arts Center

This Pacific Standard Time exhibition showcases the work of the artists, curators, and community activists whose contributions enhanced the culture of Los Angeles and defined the city as an international artistic center. Included in the exhibition, which spans close to a century of art history, are more than 130 works by artists. Opening reception accompanied by live jazz.

Downtown/Exposition Park Focus Weekend

Join the Pacific Standard Time museums in Downtown and Exposition Park as they celebrate Pacific Standard Time with two days of exhibitions, special activities, and free events. Participating museums include: Autry National Center, California African American Museum, California Institute of the Arts, Japanese American National Museum, MOCA, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives, Watts Towers Art Center. Some events are free. Check individual museums for events and prices. "Spread the Word" Benefit Auction

A one-night exhibition and silent auction at Mark Moore Gallery with unique works by over 80 contemporary artists starting below $100 to raise funds for 826LA, a nonprofit organization focused on youth literacy, creativity, and fostering unique voices in the arts. A $25 ticket pays for an evening of art, music, drinks, and culinary treats. Tickets are available online.

L.A. Plaza de Cultura y Artes Celebrates Chicano Art Movement
L.A. Plaza de Cultura y Artes (Chinatown)
12-6 p.m.
A weekend of events celebrating the contribution of Chicano art in Los Angeles and Pacific Standard Time's downtown weekend with cultural activities and music inspired by the Chicano art movement of the '60s and '70s.
