Opening reception for two shows. An exhibition of new paintings and wall drawings by Los Angeles-based artist Jesse Willenbring is on view in the gallery's ground floor space. P&CO. is a group show driven by the collective work of Aram Moshayedi, Carter Mull, Willenbring, and other international contributors including Math Bass, Fiona Connor, Vishal Jugdeo, Mungo Thompson, Pae White, and many more. This show features a film, THE END OF THE WORLD!, in which which Pierson portrays action movie hero X, a lonesome post-Rapture nihilist walking the landscape of his vanished youth looking for signs of Ricky Nelson amongst the debris of his discontent. Visit LACMA for two sets of artists in conversation. First at 2 p.m., Liz Glynn, Mark Hagen, and Ruben Ochoa discuss their work and the exhibition Lost Line: Contemporary Art from the Collection. The conversation is moderated by Jane McFadden. Then at 4 p.m. Art Catalogues at LACMA, artist Jack Pierson, who has a show at Regen Projects, celebrates the publication of his two new books and is joined by artist/writer Malik Gaines to discuss Pierson's new work and ongoing interest in photography.
