Once Upon a Bench
A+D Museum (Miracle Mile)

This event features Geographer-at-Large Eames Demetrios' launch of a new set of Trading Cards from Kcymaerxthaere's Museum of the Bench Collection. Kcymaerxthaere is a fictional alternate universe of Demetrios' creation. The event also features a reading of Kcymaerxthaere stories, refreshments and a Kcy Pop-Up Store.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30

RED-A Pop-Up Dinner: Dr. Strangelove
LACMA (Miracle Mile)
6 p.m.
Patina Restaurant Group and LACMA present RED, a brand new, pop-up dinner series. Drawing inspiration from LACMA's current Stanley Kubrick exhibition, this dinner and movie series will feature a uniquely themed menu on each date by LACMA's Executive Chef Jason Fullilove. Guests will enjoy a three-course dinner from Chef CJ Jacobson plus admission to a Stanley Kubrick film for $60 per person; email red@patinagroup.com for tickets.

FRAME Benefit Cocktail Party & Tennis Duels
Los Angeles Tennis Club (Hancock Park)

This tennis invitational and cocktail party presented by FRAME features contemporary artists, curators, critics, gallerists on the courts. This event celebrates and benefits Bodies and Shadows: Caravaggio and His Legacy currently on view at LACMA. Tickets are available online and are $100 or $500 to sponsor a match.

Queer Pile-up! Women Together... Fantastic (WTF!)
ForYourArt at 6020 Wilshire Blvd. (Miracle Mile)
7 p.m.
The closing reception for the Third Annual Queer Pile-up! presented by Darin Klein and Friends with Suzanne Wright. WTF! is a salon-style gathering with Eden's Herbal Soda Co., an Otherwild pop-up shop, Onya Hogan-Finlay, Kim Kelly, Lili Lakich, Dylan Mira, Tara Jane O'Neil and Martha Windahl.

Lost (in LA)
Barnsdall Art Park (Los Feliz)
2-5 p.m.
Opening reception for LOST (in LA), which brings together approximately 60 works by established and emerging artists from France and Los Angeles. Curated by Marc-Olivier Wahler and presented by the France Los Angeles Exchange (FLAX), the works featued in Lost (in LA) are inspired by the television series Lost. On view through January 27, 2013. After the opening, there is an after-party and screening of films by artist Julien Prévieux at Public Fiction from 8-11p.m.

Opening reception for a group show featuring works by artists including Judith Bernstein, Wally Hedrick, Michael Henderson, and Lee Lozano. The pieces in this show date from 1959-2012. On view through January 26, 2013.

Never Built: Los Angeles Fundraiser
521 Grand Avenue (South Pasadena)
4-8 p.m.
This fundraising events benefits Never Built: Los Angeles, opening at A+D Museum in March of 2013. The exhibition looks at the "what if" of Los Angeles and includes drawings, models, videos and other media portraying visionary works that had the potential to reshape the city. The event includes a silent auction and refreshments. Advance tickets are $50 and available online.

Echo Park Pottery
Echo X Park Artist Studio (Echo Park)
2-5 p.m.
This sale features pottery by Echo Park-native Peter Shire; works include various dishware and are sold once or twice a year at the artist's studio. The event continues on Sunday, December 2 from 2-5 p.m.
