New Rule: Size Matters

What's Your Reaction:

Food companies must face the facts: One container equals one serving. Look, we are Americans that means once we open the bag there's no stopping us till we're licking stray bits of powdered cheese off the carpet...

What we put in our bodies and knowing the truth about what is in the foods we eat is of most importance. We are losing our rights as to what natural remedies and foods are available to us? Wait, natural cures/food choices are alternative to pharmaceutical drugs? Seems backwards? I just read a great book, The Metabolife Story: The Rape of Cinderella. I recommend it to anyone that took Metabolife or wants a great read, I couldn't put it down!

What surprises me is that Frito-Lay doesn't produce a "Bhudda" size bag for those that really like to relax.

Unrelated to your post Bill, you were a bitter embarassment at the Academy Awards. Wars over religion is a tired subject. Wars are about money and balance of power. Create a documentary that exposes the leaders of religious extremist warlords as faithless money mongers using religion to further their personal agendas. That might be interesting.

Have we applied the worng definition to any other things your highness ?

Please tell us more.

We will ignor the prayer meeting in the Pentagon and the Religious Leader being brought in when Military trainees are at their weakest point mentally in training.

Is that all it will take to assume the Religious Right has not dragged us into a Religious Crusade ?

Maybe one day a real 9/11 investigation wll be done.

Religion is about money and power. Always has been always will be. You think the Catholic Church wants to save souls or itself? As for Muslims and Fundamentalist Christians, do they even know the gods they say they serve? It's all about money and power.

Religion may not start all wars, but they are always used to fight them.

Well if nothing else maybe if we have a more prosperous economy we'll have a more democratic position on regulating what we put on our food.

A can isn't a serving? WTF!

I've seen these little 1/3-sized cans available at the store. I think they hold about two servings or something.

Funny you mention this, because I was thinking the same thing the other day when looking at the serving size of a bag of mixed nuts.

Who only eats a serving size anyway? Who makes these serving sizes?

Bill, I hope you get to host the Oscars next year, you would have been infinitely better than recent hosts!!

Religulous was good! Can't believe it was banned in a lot of Theatres. I have a pretty good idea where. I wonder if they ban Limbaugh. Doubt it.

Bill, I watched Religulous on DVD, interesting, funny, full of characters. I recommend a book,
SACRED ENCOUNTERS with Jesus by G. Scott Sparrow. It throws a lot of light on a lot of human issues in many surprising ways. You might be surprised who shows up in your life one day.

Food is sustenance. No more, no less. Looking at it beyond that and one will have a weight problem.
09:22 AM on 02/25/2009
I weigh 106 pounds. I have a passion for food, I take much pleasure in taste and texture. Taste is an amazing and complex sense and we are so lucky to have it. There are people who have little other pleasures in life, such as not having sex or denying other primary pleasures in their lives out of guilt and fear, and over compensate by eating too much. Pleasure is natural, and it leads us to many beautiful things. It is both instinctual and inspiring.
Pleasure of eating must be balanced with pleasure of movement, not just exercise with no joy behind it. Food was closer to being only sustenance when humans first evolved, and life was very base. People needed to survive. Then we evolved to create situations to be able to enjoy these comforts and sensations much more.

You know, the monks who used to put ashes in their food considered the same point.

Moderation, guys. It's not that hard, and it should be part of everything you do. Pigging out on occassion won't hurt you. Pigging out all the time and never getting off your ass will.
