Bill, I realize this may fall on deaf ears but I am going to say it anyway. I am a longtime fan of both the show and your comedy; however, I am getting sick of you talking about Americans being fat, lazy, stupid, ignorant, etc. You generalize the population as a whole and don't even include yourself as part of it which makes me even more upset because if you are going to stereotype one crowd that you are a part of, then you need to acknowledge that. In the last few shows I've seen, I've noticed you go on tirades about the American people and "they this..." and "they that..." never once including yourself in the "they". You are an American, aren't you? Then you should be including yourself in those comments. Call out the people who are in the wrong, not generalize an entire population. Just FYI, I don't have a snuggy, a shamwow, or an iphone with farting apps, and I happen to care about our environment and the civil rights of people. So please stop telling me I am part of the problem.
Oh and by the way your status "Don't say we're all a faithful people...I'm a logical people." taken from a clip in your show makes you look like a hypocrite because you called her out for generalizing everyone but then you do it too... and I am an atheist as well...

The Geithner/Summers duo never should have been hired in the first place. They are the problem, not the solution for ripped off, abused Americans. They will continue to enrich themselves and their corporate friends. O. made a huge mistake hiring these two, thus, he will not get another nickel from me until they are gone.

I still enjoy some of Bill's funny take on things such as this one. It's absurd that one has to make an adjustment to help the software work correctly. I guess all wanted criminals need to do is paint smiles on there faces and they'll avoid capture and/or punishment? Silly I know but no more sillier than our system of justice. I mean it's not as if we let murderers and rapists and child molesters out early to alleviate overcrowding due to a failed "war on drugs" campaign right? lol

True DMV story: My state is issuing new plates. Went to DMV to get plates. Plate # was ANJ 995. Asked if they could give me #999 to make it easy for me to remember. "No, we can't go out of sequence." Well, can I sit and wait until you get to 999. "You can, but you will have to take another number to get back in line at that point". Well, can you insert my paperwork at plate #999 and issue it to me when you get to it? "No, you have to be here so we know it is really you we are assigning the plate to". But you know it's me because I am here now and I will sit right over there and wait where you can see me. " I will go ask my superviser." She comes back and tells me, no, the superviser won't allow this. I ask to speak to the superviser. She leaves and comes back a few minutes later. "No, the superviser won't speak to you". What did you say? The superviser won't speak to me? "That's correct sir. Do you want to renew your plates"? I'm still muttering to myself about the superviser and the clerk raises her voice so all can hear and says, "I did the best I could, sir". I responded by saying, your are correct, and it's exactly what I expect when I come here.
I took my plate, #995, and left--not smiling.

OMG - get over yourself already. Like that woman didn't have better things to do, in the midst of reissuing tons of plates. When the woman checked with her supervisor, and the answer was still no, you should have dropped it. People like you are what make going to the DMV a nightmare.

All they have to do at the DMV is tell people their photos are being entered into a government facial recognition database so that their every move can be tracked. That should wipe the smile off their faces. SCARY TIMES. I'm thinking of stuffing cotton in my cheeks next time i go.
I live near a town where the government used cameras all over the town to identify people using facial recognition software for "security." It was unnerving to feel that you're being watched on a camera system where there are little boxes around your face on someone's monitor sitting in a little room somewhere. Police used it for two years while privacy advocates fought it. It might not be a bad thing if criminals were the only faces in the system. But why do they need to enter innocent people's faces into a central facial recognition database? Is it really paranoia to think that our wonderful government would ever abuse their power because they always have our best interests in mind? As the intellectual great, Britney Spears said, maybe we should all just trust that our wonderful leaders will do the right thing, support it and be faithful. They might as well set up checkpoints and check everyone's papers while they're at it. It's the same thing. We do not need to be watched that closely.

All they have to do is make people pay for the renewal before the photo is taken.... when they see how much they've raised the fees they'll never smile again.

I never look at my license. It's official state paperwork; why would I care what's on it. I hand it to officials when it is requested and use it to prove that I'm me from time to time. Caring about your driver's license picture is for the same people that just customized their new capital one credit card with 25 percent interest and a 500 dollar limit. That being said, this new rule is funny on it's face.

They wo'nt let you smile in New York. We need tooth care reform even more than we need healthcare reform. Why is no one talking about the horrors of Medicaid & medicare dentistry? They torture you & destroy your teeth until it can not be fixed anymore & you not only get traumatized, you lose all your expensive dental work & end up toothless with bone missing. You do'nt want to smile anymore, or eat well, work, socialize. Bad teeth destroy your life.

I'm with you on that Star. It doesn't make any sense to me why your teeth and gums are not part of medical insurance. People die from gum desease all the time.
And the prices are insane. 70% of my total debt right now is dental bills. And that's WITH insurance!
As far as the horrors of medicaid dentistry you mention, look up SMALL SMILES ( a dentistry chain which works soley with children on medicaid) and all the unnecessary and painful things they do to small children (the more work they do, the more $$ they make, so the routinely do root canals on babyteeth and worse.) 20/20 did an expose on them- sorry I'm not finding the right link.
I was shocked to learn they are owned by Arcapita, a Bahranian company who owns much bigger chunks of American business then you would believe- Churches Chicken, PODS, and more.
Sorry- I digress because I have a freaking TOOTH ACHE!

Oregon hasn't outlawed smiling...yet. They are just "encouraging" people not to smile, when they renew. Really shouldn't be too difficult, eh? I know nothing wipes a smile off most people's faces like spending time at the DMV does...;|
Sidenote: Last night Conan O'Brien was talking about getting his California DL. The DMV photo-taker took his picture 3 three times..kept telling him he "could do better than that" and he ended up with a big lovely smile on his face;} He showed it next to his NY DL, in which his mouth was partially open and his eyes were partially closed..funny! Guess California won't be using the new software?

No, it is not illegal (one state cannot make a law telling another state what to do). I moved from Texas to Virginia and I now have two legal driver's licenses. I would have a hard time renewing in Texas when it eventually expires, without a Texas address.
