Why Won't Harry Reid Seat Roland Burris??

Who says there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans?

When Republicans take power, they band together and fight Democrats. When Democrats take power, they split apart and eat their own.

Just look what's happening with Roland Burris. It is monumentally stupid, and political suicide, for Democrats to deny him his Senate seat.

So what if he was appointed by Rod Blagojevich? The appointment was legal. Burris is qualified. End of story. Or should be.

Instead, Harry Reid has launched this absurd crusade to block Burris's appointment because he doesn't like Rod Blagojevich. Hello? Nobody likes Rod Blagojevich. That's irrelevant.

Doesn't the Majority Leader get it? By making such a fuss over Burris - having Senate goons stop him at the Senate door - Democrats are only making him look like a victim, making the Democratic party look intolerant, and keeping this issue alive for weeks or months.

How much smarter it would be to just give Burris his seat - and then move on, with one more solid Democratic vote, to fight Republicans over the stimulus package - and stop fighting each other.

Hey Guys, I would like to share with you all an email I recently sent Senator Reid:

Dear Senator,

Please seat Roland Burriss.

While I admire your new-found courage, I think it is mistimed. I wonder where was this courage during the last eight years. I watched painfully as the Bush administration repeatedly made you fold like a man holding a deuce of clubs and three of hearts.

Seeing that you were able to backdown on issues such as torture, eavesdropping, bringing our troops home, and a host of others, backing down to Roland Burriss should be easy.

Reid does not represent me, and needs to go. He is an embarrassment, weak , in every way, and fosters the view that dems are cowards. Replace him with a person, who exudes strength of character and a fighter of these nasty repubs, pure and simple.

Short and sweet. Thanks Bill. Someone needs to teach Reid how to lead. He seems clueless. He is walking into a trap with his eyes wide open and his mind shut. How foolish!

How much did that Senate seat wind up going for at "auction"?

"Who says there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans?"

That's right. The GOP actually makes stands about things that matter to their constituents. The Dems make a stand about Burris. Not war, not impeachment, not torture, not spying, not gay rights, not taxes, not judges...

Of course the problem is that the Republican's constituents are only the richest 1/10 of one percent of the population......

Not to mention the fact that it's illegal for Reid to KEEP him out! If he truly has a problem with him, Reid's ONLY recourse would be to seat him and then try to get a 2/3 majority to kick him out!
