Despite what seemed at the time to be a rather obvious, cut-and-dried case of some blog-hating, thick-fingered half-wit vandalizing my Huffington Post post over the weekend, it would appear that my very clever, very classy ex-essay did not fall victim to some random hacker after all but rather was set upon by my own children. Funny when you think about -- me accusing some nameless, faceless miscreants of carrying out the foul deed when, in fact, the act occurred right here. In my own home. By my own progeny. With utter disregard for my feelings or my very expensive picture.

Oh well. Suppose I had it coming, given that I’ve raised such bright, active and “artistic” children who, thanks to my wife's insistence on "sparing the rod" and all, are now prone to prankery. Not unfamiliar to our fine local constabulary those two, god love 'em.

Anyway, there you have it. Case closed. Apologies all around. Won’t happen again, I assure you. The little devils have been given quite the tongue-lashing and trust me, they may have been laughing while I waggled my finger at them but it'll be a completely different story when they find that their TV-viewing privileges have been reduced from eight hours a day to seven. Unless "Gilmore Girls" is on, in which case I might make a one-time exception. I’ve also informed them in no uncertain terms that the door to their room will now have to stay open at all times. If they'd like to close it, they'll have to ask nicely and they know I mean business this time.
