Kate Gosselin Just Insulted Every Normal Mom By Calling Non-Celebs "Mediocre!"

Posted: 09/12/11 09:31 PM ET

Kate Gosselin -- when you lashed out at your ex-husband Jon for being "mediocre" on the Today Show this morning Sept. 12 because he works a "normal" job, you insulted all of us regular parents who aren't TV stars!

You made the insulting comments when you responded to Jon's comment that "reality TV is not a career and it's time to get back to a normal life."

Here's what you said to us and Matt Lauer: "It's a situation where Jon may be accepting of mediocre for his kids and working a regular job. I want the best for my kids and the best opportunities in life... and this has provided that."

What? You just told all of us people who aren't TV stars and who hold "regular" jobs, that we are "mediocre!" And that we don't want the best opportunities for our kids.

Kate -- don't you realize, who watched Kate Plus 8? It was "regular' moms and dads. Regular families. You just insulted all of your fans!

What are you thinking? Or not thinking!

99.9999 percent of "regular" families will never have the opportunity to have their own reality TV show. And they still want the best opportunities for their kids. And try hard to make them by working their "regular" jobs.

I'm sure that your ex-- Jon Gosselin wants what's best for his kids. He just feels strongly that it's better for them not to be on TV. He thinks that normal, "regular" life not in front of the cameras has value for the Gossellettes that more than makes up for all the fancy trips to Australia and Alaska.

Jon doesn't think that it's great that his children have had to work through school and summer vacations to shoot the show. And that they've been hounded by paparazzi photographers when they're getting on and off their school buses. He doesn't think those trade-offs are worth it.

You do, obviously, in fact, you told Matt Lauer that "the best opportunity for all of us would be for me to continue to work in TV as a way to provide for my family," and that you would put the kids back on TV "if the right thing came along."

"I'm sure you will see my kids again at some point."

I wouldn't be so sure, Kate. Not when you've insulted the very people who made you a star.

Many of your Twitter followers saw it this way too and you've been forced to defend yourself like this! "@forever_trust Not wut I ment.was reply2 jons comment re I should get a 'normal' job-wouldn't work4me $ w8kids kudos2allhardwrking parents!"

I guess Pennsylvania traffic laws are mediocre to Kate too. She is a habitual offender. I saw this posted on another site. She has several speeding tickets on record one going 23 mph over the limit and another 18. It's public record and can be found on http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/. She's a danger to all of us on the road and thinks she's above the law. She had one speeding ticket in August this year and her last one on September 11. Someone needs to stop this woman. Were the kids in with her any of these times?

Sooooooooooooooooo Looooooooooooooooong Kate!
While you are trying to be a "movie star" and having your plastic surgery, have a brain transplant. Maybe you could get a brain that treats people nice and respectful.
Surely you remember "I am third".???
#1. God is first, #2 you are second and #3 I am third"
More important than you....8 children that you choose to birth. The most important thing that you will ever be remembered for is how you raised those children. Not how you made a complete fool of yourself thinking you a "Star" and turning over the care of those 8 to anyone you could beg, borrow or steal to take your place while you trotted around the country with a man that you certainly should not be with. Either marry him or straighten up you act!!! How you have continually spoken bad about their Father. You didn't have them on your own. They are very much half of Jon. You are causing great damage to the children. Grow up!

How much did these people make, anyway? Looks like they could have provided for a more than "mediocre" life for their kids with some judicious saving. Looks like they won the lotto and then blew the jackpot.

Both Jon and Kate were "mediocre" before they had their kids. Didn't she think then how they were going to support all those kids?

It is pretty natural for an ex to bag her ex-spouse. Maybe she should have thought better as to how to do it.

Isn't it funny Kate is pleading near poverty, with talks about not knowing how she is going to support her children financially all over the media, People Magazine and talk shows? Hmm..hey Kate, you get paid for those appearances. She is so full of herself Making money with magazine covers, peddling products on her new web page and doing interviews but she bitches about finances.

I am a father of 3 lovely daughters. My wife and I do our best to provide for them. Every morning I get up and make coffee and breakfast for the kids. I get the kids off to school. Can I have my reality show now? I am abviously NOT mediocre...look at all my daily accomplishments. Oh, I guess I need a nanny and a housekeeper to be NOT mediocre. My Grandparents raised 9 kids. Yes they were differing ages, but the gosselins are growing up. They dont need the constant 24/7 care that babies and toddlers need. So Kate, your logic is skewed. Have your oldest help with the kids, its what families have done for centuries.

Oh please. Just thought it was perfectly fine when he was in the picture. As he was living high off the hog. Then after they broke up and he tried to be someone and went all ed hardy on us and failed. Then and only then did he have a problem with it. He wanted to make things bad on Kate because he could not make it. So he had to get a normal job. I think he comment was meant for him, because without that show, she never could have given her kids what they got. I still dont like either one of them.

How do you know that Jon behind the scenes didnt want to do the show? There were a lot of things on the show that they didnt agree on but most were still done because Kate wanted to do them. Even in most cases when it comes to any relationship most men do what the woman wants just to make them happy. Its sad that people call them her kids. They are not just hers.

Not the best parenting plan I've ever seen.

It's hard for me to believe that Kate would insult about 100 million people who are regular people.
A) It's stupid and B) Some of those people used to watch her show and probably won't watch anything else she does.

She didn't do it on purpose, that's the point. She did it just by reveal what she thinks, i.e. that regular jobs are ''mediocre''. She asserts that she wants better than that for her kids, but anybody who's ever watched the show knows that she wants better than that for herself. She wants to keep driving an Audi couple and spending a fortune on her clothes and appearance, not to mention all the staff she has - nannies, housekeeper, publicist, bodyguard, etc. She wants to keep on being a celebrity and having lots of attention. It's what she thrives on because she's totally self-centered and her kids have been her meal ticket. Poor kids with that shrew for a mother.

I never watched to show...wouldn't...and feel completely not insulted by anything that she says. Sometimes life has a way of forcing you to take a "real job" such as many Hollywood "stars" and "celebrities" find out.

She is just another flash in the pan....but I wish her well. She deserves every penny that she can earn. In fact, I would rather that she get the big bucks than someone like SP who is just a dangerous opportunist.

The success of CBS' Survivor, the writer's strike and the proliferation of cable stations gave rise to "unscripted", "reality" TV shows that were relatively cheap & quick to bring to market. Stick a camera in someone's living room and be an observant "guest". Watch drama of ordinary, dysfunctional families w/ bonus feature of their divorce! It didn't take talent, Kate. If it took talent, you'd have a semi-biographical, sit-com and a couple of Emmys.
