How dare you compare yourself to real rape victims in your new Vanity Fair cover story! Women who are raped suffer real terror, physical violence and injuries! You haven't!

Johnny Depp -- you have been a highly paid and catered-to celebrity for WAY too long! You are completely and utterly out of touch with the reality of the lives of real people, especially women. You had the nerve to say in your new Vanity Fair interview that being photographed is like "being raped."

"You just feel like you're being raped somehow," you said. "Raped... it feels like kind of weird .. just weird, man."

Weird, man?

Then you went on to say that you can't stand photo shoots. "Whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it's like ... you just feel dumb. It's just so stupid," you told Vanity Fair.

Guess what Johnny? The photo shoots aren't stupid. You're stupid for comparing yourself to a rape victim. Or maybe you're just ignorant and haven't stepped out of your gilded world in years to actually read a newspaper or watch a newscast about the Great Recession that your fellow Americans have been suffering through, or about the horrendous war in the Sudan where actual rapes are an epidemic.

The rape victim advocacy group RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) issued this exclusive statement to Hollywoodlife.com about your comments!

"While photos may feel at times intrusive, being photographed in no way compares to rape -- a violent crime which affects another American every 2 minutes. RAINN welcomes the opportunity to speak with Mr. Depp and educate him about the real life experiences faced by survivors every day, and ways that he can work with RAINN to help."

Rape is an utterly horrific, degrading and demoralizing crime, which is often used as a weapon in wars around the world like Sudan, as I mentioned.

You are one of the highest paid actors in the world. Last year you earned $50 million primarily from your starring role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the huge hit movie franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean.

You live a life of privilege and power. You can buy anything you want. Your children want for nothing. You have the power to decide when you will work or what you will work on, unlike 99.999% of the people on this planet.

You have also NEVER been raped! I am sure that your words will offend any woman who has actually had the truly horrific experience of being raped. I'm sure any of them would change places with you and happily be photographed.
