I learned from a Hollywood star-maker that superstars are not necessarily those with the most talent or the hardest working. The people who become superstars are simply those who receive the most help. Learning to be "helpable," makes the difference.

My friend, Marci Shimoff, is a great example of this principle. I watched her preparing for the launch of her newest book, Happy for No Reason, in paperback. For months she has connected with her friends--both famous and less so--creating ways to help them and help her.

Maybe I'm fascinated with this process because I am working to launch my own book in April, Live Your Joy. But it's more than that. Her example shows us how to succeed in business right now in the toughest market we can remember, by being helpable...and of course, by radiating happiness and joy.

To understand what I mean click on this link....and you will see exactly how Marci has created a windfall gain for anyone who orders the book in the first week--as well as greater exposure for her author friends who have similar expertise. Make sure you scroll all the way down so you can read the list of hundreds of authors who are participating in the launch by giving away goodies if you order Happy for No Reason now. It's brilliant.

More importantly, being helpable works: the "Happy" book is already topping the bestseller list after only two days! What economic slowdown? If you, too, want to be a superstar in your field no excuses, follow her example. Oh yeah, and don't forget to buy the book so you can cash in on the freebies she has created for you plus read more about her and how she operates. Why shouldn't you be happy for no reason, too? Please reply, comment, write to me and tell me your examples of being helpable at work or home and how effective it is at this time more than ever.
