Rush Limbaugh: "We're Trying to Avoid a 50 State Landslide!"

Republicanist Radio Pundit Responds in Heated Tirade to Criticism by Former Bush Sr. Secretary of State, Concerning His Attacks on John McCain...

In response to critical comments by former Republican Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger, rightwing talker and self-proclaimed "Dean of the Limbaugh Institute for Conservative Studies," Rush Limbaugh, offered a fresh and perhaps telling explanation yesterday morning for his ongoing attacks on presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain.

"We're trying to avoid a fifty state landslide!" Limbaugh shouted angrily in reply to the comments from Eagleburger, who had slammed him and fellow Republicanist entertainer Sean Hannity of Fox "News" and ABC Radio.

"I don't know who elected Rush Limbaugh or Hannity as the heads of this conservative movement," Eagleburger says at the beginning of a clip from MSNBC on Tuesday night that and aired on Wednesday's radio show. "They throw that word around as if it was theirs and theirs alone."

"I thought I was a conservative, but that doesn't mean that I have to buy off on everything these poobahs thinks is what's necessary to be a conservative," continued the former Sec. of State, before defending what he sees as McCain's conservative national security credentials.

(The audio clip of the entire outburst is posted here...)

The apparently irksome comments by the former high-ranking Republican statesman reflects the continuing confusion and dismay among an increasingly dispirited, disjointed and desperate Republican Party, torn apart after seven years of what all but 19% of America sees as the failed Presidency of George W. Bush, coupled with the party's inability to select a 2008 Presidential nominee perceived as being both Conservative on all fronts and entirely flip-flopless.

On the taped portion of his comments, as aired by Limbaugh, Eagleburger concluded by adding, "They boggle my mind in terms of what it is they think they're doing. The whole thing is so confusing, and so illogical that I cannot understand what they have on their minds," before El-Rushbo broke into his tirade.

"We're trying to win. We're trying to avoid a fifty state landslide, Dr. Eagleburger!," Limbaugh hollered in reply. "We're trying to win!," he said again.

He then launched into an attack on the former State Department official who served under Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr., and who now serves as an analyst for MSNBC -- referred to by Limbaugh conversely as "DNC TV" and "PMSNBC" on the program.

"We've always wanted to win!," Limbaugh continued in his defense before releasing a huge sigh of exasperation. And then..."We don't have a death wish!"

He went on to attack Eagleburger at length, yet again, later in the broadcast. Limbaugh's telling admission came during the first hour of his nationally syndicated radio broadcast on Wednesday.

Limbaugh is not a 'republicanist,' he is a conservative who stands by principles. At times he can be arrogant by calling him the vessel for all conservatives but he gives a voice to people who defend the free market and competition. Limbaugh is far from being a sycophant for the president because he criticizes many of his policy decisions. He says he doesn't have a death wish because he knows that conservatism wins.

Baring another false flag attack, McCain will get creamed in November. There is nothing anybody can do about that. When McCain is buried in the land slide Rush can say I told you so. Life goes on.

The spokesmen for the crackpot coalition are upset because even conservative voters are rejecting their annointed selection. It certainly isn't because McCain isn't conservative. It is because he wasn't their choice. Their problem is they realize so many of their own ilk aren't listening anymore. They are finally on their way to a well deserved ignominy. In order to lead you have to have followers. Theirs are departing after enduring years of failed policies, foreign and domestic. The hateful and disatrous stupidities of the extrreme right wing are undeniable to all but the most in denial, those who could never admit being wrong. Their wrongness has killed tens of thousands, wasted billions, damaged our relations with our allies, inflamed our enemies the world over, reduced our military. We are less safe not more. Our Constitution has been reduced to a museum piece. We perpetrate the very things we criticized the old Soviets for while still supporting some of the most repressive regimes in the world. What are we fighting for but the property rights of big corporations. We have an unelected president picked by the courts and Diebold who is bound by no law. He can all our records and arrest without charge, imprison indefinitely and torture at will. What was our problem with the USSR? What is our problem with Cuba?

They're trying to win.
How cute.

Like a bunch of kindergarteners up against a Major College Team. Led by sub-par greedy jerks who only have the concerns of the few and the rich against responsible minded leaders who want better for the masses of wonderful hard working Americans.

Oh, but they want to win!

How cute.
Payback's a bee-ah-itch, huh, Rushbo?

Just wait till a responsible leadership brings back the Fairness Doctrine to broadcasting. It's gonna be great watching you roast, you pig.

There can be serious life-long problems if one has the habit of misusing & abusing Rx medications & other controlled substances. It looks like Mr Limbaugh will now be forced to deal with the undesirable life-long side effects of oxy... & other drugs he has misused. Such misuse of oxy... other drugs may cause brain damage. That may be why critics of Mr Limbaugh now call him Rash Lamebrain. I now have abundant reason to call him Rash Lamebrain.
Rash's excuses are really lame now. They only work in Dysfunction Junction, Maryland.

Rush has family. Me. I am a 5th cousin by marriage of our cousins. Never met him but... the rest of it pretty much right on. There are some who question whether he is straight or not.

Ahh come on Rush. You are only trying to make us feel good so that we let our guard down.

50 state landslide? That is beyond my most hopeful dreams.

But I will buy it. After all you (and your fellow Cons) are never wrong.

Let's Review:

Conservative Values:

Straight

Thrifty

Moral

Family Man

NOW, Limbaugh:

Straight

Mean

Greedy and rich

Immoral

No kids/No wife/No family (ever heard of any of his relatives?)

Therefore:

RUSH LIMBAUGH IS NO CONSERVATIVE!

There, THAT was easy....

THOSE Conservative Values DO NOT EQUAL Conservative Politicians and much less the Republican Party. Family oriented? Are you kidding me? The Republicans divorced at the least moment the MONEY from their wives is not there! Thrifty? Most find W.O.R.K a four-letter word. Moral? Yeah, playing with pageants and pagers in the closet. I don't care about Limbaugh at all but, where are his scandals, other than his "use of force and power" for pain-killers? Jeff Bush's daughter had misdemeanors with misusing prescription drugs as do many people from ever walk of life. I reiterate that I don't listen to Limbaugh nor do I care for him.

Limbaugh's family is filled with prominent lawyers in the Missouri legal community and has been for at least two generations before Rush. I believe one sits on the state supreme court.
