Keystone XL Pipeline Crony Corruption Infographic

Posted: 10/18/11 06:32 PM ET

Now that the web of Keystone XL tar sands industry lobbyists connected to Hillary Clinton has grown far beyond Paul Elliott, DeSmogBlog, Oil Change International, The Other 98% and Friends of the Earth have produced a new white board infographic to help everyone visualize this cast of carbon cronies.

Be sure to visit the action page at RejectLobbyistsNoKXL.org.

If funny animated cartoons are more your style, DeSmogBlog commissioned artist Mark Fiore to explain this corrupt process in a lighter fashion.

This story shows how deeply oil company money has wormed its way into our government. You have drill baby drill republicans fighting for people like the Kochs and you have long-time dems like Hillary who've been compromised by oil company ties.

Obama needs to have someone other than Hillary decide on the XL pipeline. Meanwhile, I'll be joining the protesters on Nov 6. Better to spend money creating 3 times as many green jobs per dollar than to wreck Canada's environment and to set in place a situation of runaway global warming.

Expansion of the Tar Sands development with possible pipelines to USA (XL) and BC for shipping to China in the works pose a huge environmental threat to Canada and the world. We need to not subsidize oil companies and expand oil economy activites but instead invest tax dollars and private research into ecologically sustainable economy with the development of "green collar jobs", smart grids, hydrogen and renewable energy approaches - permanently shifting our way of sustaining ourselves as humans locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Hillary Clinton is way too connected to the oil companies and should not be involved in the XL pipeline review process that needs to be conducted independently of big corporate and government influences for the benefit of the planet's ecosystem and sustainable living by its creatures including humans (Americans and Canadians as part of this!).
