How Mitt Romney Can Prove "Give 'em Hell" Harry Reid Wrong

I call on Mitt Romney to release one set of numbers: the effective tax rate he paid for every year since 1999. Just the tax rate, so voters can judge for themselves whether Mitt Romney paid his fair share of taxes. I wrote a piece on Friday for The Hill suggesting that Harry Reid's give 'em hell style is scoring big.

Reid has put this issue on the front page again. Democrats across America are thrilled at Reid's fighting spirit and voters are far more interested in whether Romney paid his fair share of taxes than debating "Give 'em hell" Harry Reid's political strategy.

I predict if this set of numbers is released it would be a disaster for Mitt Romney. I could be wrong. Harry Reid could be wrong. But the American people have a right to know, and a great man named George Romney would agree with me entirely, about this.

If Romney refused to release even his tax rate figures, he would be confessing and pleading guilty to Harry Reid's charge. The American people would then sentence him accordingly.

It is time for Mitt Romney to tell us the truth about this matter.
