In Random Recast, I find new ways to upgrade the ordinary things in our lives. And this week, it's all about pumpkins.

This has to be one of the easiest (but stylish) pumpkin ideas around, because it involves little more than applying tape to a pumpkin. Really. In this inventive idea from Real Simple, you create a grid out of washi tape.

What's washi tape, you ask? It's a hot product in the crafting world imported from Japan. Basically, washi tape is really fancy masking tape. You can find it at Cute Tape.

But if you don't have washi tape (and don't feel like waiting for an order to come to you), try this DIY: Just stick a piece of double-sided tape to a piece of colorful tissue paper, then cut out the strip. Use as you would normal tape. Or, use electrical tape.
