Whew. We made it through awards season, which means we no longer have to hear endless chatter about who is going to what party and blah, blah, blah. It was all very fun, but now it's time to move on with our lives... Don't you think?
OK, fine, you're still gossiping about so-and-so's dress and how x, y, and z of your Instagram friends managed to sneak into Seth MacFarlane's after party last night. And you are probably also still nursing a hangover from the Oscars drinking game we encouraged you to play. (Don't worry: Help is on the way). With all of this in mind, we've kept your Monday mellow and filled the week with good food and lots of laughs so as to ease you back into regular life as painlessly as possible.

As we mentioned earlier, we're guessing you're pretty out of it today. So, when the workday is done, we suggest you pop into newbie restaurant Guatelinda for some Guatemalan comfort food before heading over to The Hollywood Forever Cemetery to fully space out at the Matmos show. And no, "space out" is not a euphemism for something else... Unless, of course, you do that other thing, in which case, this would be the perfect place for it.
If sex addictions and inter-species marriage are more your cup of tea, we suggest you see The Residents play the El Rey instead. Grab dinner before at our favorite go-to, cheap-and-healthy restaurant, Robata Jinya. (Note: Try the Homemade Organic Tofu!)

Tuesday
Start your Tuesday in Echo Park by joining KCRW and dineLA for Dinner Date at Mohawk Bend. Thirty dollars gets you a three-course meal that includes options such as mushroom risotto, "holy trinity" pizza, and chocolate molten cake. The 7:30 p.m. seating is already sold out, so hurry, hurry to reserve your table at 8 p.m.

Wednesday
If you haven't yet made it over to the Geffen Playhouse to watch James Van Der Beek perform in The Gift, we think Wednesday is a good night to do so. Use promo code "GIFTBGG" to get tickets (regularly $45-$75) for $38. Napa Valley Grille has an amazing happy hour, so we'd suggest exploiting that for all its worth before the 8 p.m. show.
Those of you who have already seen Van Der Beek in all his onstage glory should instead check out newbie K-Town speakeasy Lock & Key. In addition to craft cocktails, you'll be treated to cheap bites like The Angry Bird, a Taiwanese-style chicken sandwich, and deep fried PB&J's. Thursday
We can think of few people with whom we'd rather kick off our Thursday night than Sarah Silverman. Luckily, she's hosting a screening of Crimes and Misdemeanors via Cinefamily at 7:30 p.m. tonight. After, grab a bite to eat at nearby Rosewood Tavern... or, take advantage of Canter's while it's still around. (Haven't you heard? Jewish delis are dying!)
If you'd rather skip right to drinking, it might behoove you to fork over $25 at Bow & Truss to learn "The Art of the Cocktail" at 7 p.m. instead. Ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres, some schooling, and, we're guessing, a fair amount of booze. After, get thee to either the El Rey to see funky, New Orleans-style jazz combo Galactic play or The Fonda to catch a DJ set by Brazilian "sound artist" Amon Tobin. Then, finish your night out somewhere mellow like The Village Idiot or The Dime (haven't been there in a while, have you?) or, if you're feeling super aggressive, go on over to Greystone.
