In order to commemorate the inauguration of Barack Obama, President-elect and admitted Spider-Man collector, as 44th President of the United States, Marvel Comics just had to have Spider-Man meet the new President.
"When we heard that President-Elect Obama is a collector of Spider-Man comics, we knew that these two historic figures had to meet in our comics' Marvel Universe," says Marvel's Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. "Historic moments such as this one can be reflected in our comics because the Marvel Universe is set in the real world. A Spider-Man fan moving into the Oval Office is an event that must be commemorated in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man."
The story is a quick read, full of laughs (sometimes at the expense of an absent Joe Biden) and details a plot by a super-villain to disrupt the inauguration. Fortunately, Peter Parker is covering the event as a photographer, which means Spider-Man is close at hand to deal with the problem.
Marvel Comics has given Huffington Post readers an early look at the cover and a few panels from the comic:

Truly disgusting.
This will definitely be a collectors item!
Where can I buy one??
Awesome. Just Awesome.
Spider-Man, Very cool!
I'm curious, for George W Bush's 2001 Inauguration was he welcomed by the Joker while Cheney was high-fiving the Comedian?
Very cool. The battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation is ours to win.
Okay, this is totally cool. I mean, cool for comic books. But it's still cool. Does the President-Elect have an Obama Sense? If so, he'd better use it and increase the size of that stimulus package!
Don't wait.

I guess it would be hard to do Obama in his true likeness among the specifically styled artwork. The cover's alot easier to do as a one-off. It's like watching the Simpsons in 3D...
Ordered my copy today.
Obama has blue eyes? I didn't know that.
Why does he blue eyes?
COOL!!!
I'm sold!
Sweet. Pre-Ordered mine already.
So did I. : )
Where can one pre-order??? I would love to have one! Thanks!
Dude, you gave away the bad guy in the second image. Where was the spoiler alert? Poor spoiler etiquette.

Damn.
I knew I forgot something.
If it's any consolation, you have my deepest apologies...
Is the bad guy Silver Surfer or Joe the Plumber?
See Bryan Young's Profile
The Chameleon, spluh.
Though Joe the Plumber should be added to at least one super-heroes rogues gallery.
Thanks, Swankmotron.
Post BND I had given up on Spidey in the normal 616 universe (only reading the Bendis Ultimate stuff). I'm putting my hold back on!!
