Why on earth does vegan cuisine get written a blank check for its "healthy" status? Soul Veg in Chicago, where I live, is a great example: just because their mac & cheese, pecan pie, chicken wings, "mammoth hoagie" cheesesteak, and sugar-stuffed chicken wings are vegan doesn't mean they are good for you... there are no vegetable dishes on the entire menu.

What hyperbole...'Sweeping the Nation'.

There are more and some are very popular but it is still a tiny percentage and in San Francisco the ones that have the lines are the ones that promote bacon, pizza, and offal tacos.

LA and Portland are spoiled as per usual, *sigh*. We have vegan friendly trucks here in PHX, but nothing strictly vegan. We did get quite a few new veg restaurants in the past few years, tho!
