Operation Chaos II: Get Rush

What's Your Reaction:

A while back, Rush Limbaugh attempted to divide the party lines between Democrats for Hillary Clinton and those for Barack Obama. Limbaugh prayed for riots in the streets. As much as I wished that the recent CPAC conference would turn into a riot between racist Rush supporters and decent Republicans who were not racist but believed in conservative principles and values, there weren't enough of the latter to start a confrontation.

After the Barack the Magic Negro controversy, I wrote an article on why the GOP Must Denounce Limbaugh and why we should boycott his parent companies.

The Republican party must choose if its principles are fiscal responsibility and family values, or racism, sexism and a desire to see our country fail.

Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes

Here Are Some Ways We Can Take Out Rush the Evil Bigot

1. Get Him Off Armed Forces Radio

Not only does Limbaugh have the support of hundreds of GOP politicians, but he is also one of the voices of Armed Services radio. That means all soldiers, whether they be female, Black or Latino, three groups who Limbaugh continually offends, have no other options on the radio than Limbaugh. Everybody should write in to their elected officials and demand that Limbaugh be taken off Armed Forces Radio. There is no reason tax payer money should go to Limbaugh while minorities and women soldiers are forced to listen to that bigot.

2. Force the GOP to address him.

The media has been doing a good job asking Republican officials to address Rush Limbaugh and let the country know what side they're on. We as citizen journalists can do the same thing. Elected officials are public servants and must listen to the concerns of the public. The officials must be asked the question Pete Seeger posed, "Which side are you on?" Here is an example of how we can act locally to take down Rush.

Make Republicans Address Rush

3. Boycott Clear Chanel

Clear Channel is Rush Limbaugh's parent company. Not only do they distribute Rush Limbaugh but they also own many Urban Radio stations which play corporate sponsored negative Hip Hop. If the black community were to boycott these stations (I assume they are already boycotting Rush), it would force Clear Channel to address Limbaugh and we would hit them in the pocket and force them to tell us "Which Side Are You On?"

Here is a List of Rush's Sponsors

4. Boycott CPAC Sponsors

CPAC chose to back Limbaugh and make him their keynote speaker, legitimizing his political beliefs. We should also try and boycott their sponsors as well. Some of their sponsors are BMW, AT&T and Google as well as several questionable Right Wing neo-cons racists and imperialists. These sponsors must address why they are sponsoring a neo-conservative thinktank that uses a bigot as their spokesman.

Here are CPAC's sponsors

5. Protest Stations that Cover Limbaugh
Rush must be given the same treatment as the New York Post's Sean Delonas. THe center of Rush's power is WABC 770 AM in liberal New York. 770 not only carries Rush but also other right wing bigots like Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham. A nice protest outside 770 would call attention to the hate and bigotry the station spews daily.

We proved how successful protests can be with the recent action taken against the New York Post cartoon. Now we must take out Limbaugh. If Black people can unite with Latino groups and women's groups, both of whom Limbaugh has offended in the past we could make the Post protest look minuscule.

Here's a List of the Republicans Who Are On Rush's Side

George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Sarah Palin, Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, and Matt Drudge. All of these people either appeared on Rush's show or hosted his show for him.

Here's a List of Republicans Who Are Scared of Rush

John McCain (despite the fact that Limbaugh bashed him in the primaries, he has never uttered a disparaging word about the evil bigot), Michael Steele(criticized Limbaugh and then apologized), Phil Ginney(same as Steele). Bobby Jindal(called Limbaugh a conservative leader)

Here's a List of Republicans Who Stand Up for Their Conservative Principle and To Limbaugh's Bigotry and Negativity.

None so far.

Mr. Limbaugh is a talk show host. He's a highly compensatated radio personality and folks listen to him because he entertains them. He can make you laugh if you listen to him a times.

Unfortunately not everything he says is entertaining and It often comes at someone's expense. Most recently, the GOP is being dismembered and chewed out. People are ridiculed after he'd done with them just as many children feel when they are bullied in school. No one stands up to him or to some of the people in the democratic party because they have too much power. It is dangerous when one person has too much power. Absolute power is corrupt.

Exactly who are these "decent republicans" you mention? The only GOP principle is "Make rich people richer". Their tactics are bigotry, deceit, and hate. Their effect on this country has been a calamity.

What decent person still counts themselves in the rolls of the republicans?

Your world is too small. I know plenty of wonderful Republicans--some whose charity in proportion to means exceeds that of any Democrat I know. (I am a Dem.)

The problem here in the South--and maybe elsewhere--is that too many Republicans are of the ugly variety epitomized by Limbaugh.

I'm sure many concentration camp guards were good to their mother. Doesn't make them decent people. I suppose you could make the argument that some people are republican out of a staggering ignorance or hopelessly delusional world view. Sort of a "would be decent but for insanity" plea but the very argument denies that their decent people in the first place.

I'll stand by my original question. Who are these "decent republicans"?

Please don't campaign to take this criminal off Armed Forces Radio. For me, it's not so easy to listen to him any other way.
Really, it's educational. And funny. Think about it: if you make a satire of Rush (and there are a few on YouTube etc) it looks just like the real thing. Only less funny.
I know he has millions of listeners. But if you surveyed a sample "Would you be more likely to buy a product because it's advertised on RL?" you'd probably find lots of people who would ask "Are you kidding?"

Rush Limbaugh tends to give himself too much credit , but he will fall and fail...Now, the Republicans will definitely face a herd of questions by the media ...Do you believe in Rush Limbaugh ? Do you feel the country is strongly supporting Rush Limbaugh ? Are you as a Republican afraid of Rush L:imbaugh ? Can a Republican ever disagree with Rush Limbaugh ?etc.etc.etc.

You get the point that Republicans are making Rush Limbaugh invincible.....NOT !

The reason for the ascendancy of Mr. Limbaugh is two-fold. First, the Republican Party has a leadership vacuum. Nature abhors a vacuum. Second, the party had to choose between reasserting traditional conservative economic policies or attempting to hang on to the remainder of its base, a lose-lose proposition if you will. Since its economic policies have been thoroughly discredited, the party has opted to preserve its remaining base. That means it was necessary to find someone with the needed oratorical skills to appeal to racism, sexism and anti-intellectualism. Who better fits that bill than Rush Limbaugh? The Republican Party has now affirmed to the public what its current core values are. Given enough time, the truth always emerges. The delicious irony in all of this is that the new leader of the GOP actually thinks he's doing his party a favor. I, for one, couldn't be happier.

The real enemy of the ranting, talk radio-addled fringe group that now controls the Republican Party isn't the Democratic Party. It's civilization itself.
Openly or covertly, they regard free speech, reason, compassion, public education, civil rights, civil liberties and science as liberal vices to be eradicated. Truth, too. Hence the ease with which they lie.
They despise the Constitution and art, regarding both as subversive. Their porcine pontiff, Rush Limbaugh, doesn't even know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
The very idea of torture appeals to them. They like it and defend it.
They worship, or pretend to worship, fundamentalist religion. It's so useful for manipulating the puppets. They actually DO worship guns, money and fa scist power, with all the fervor in their black little hearts.

You people who claim to be members of the party of tolerance should be embarrassed to be part of this attempt to smear a citizen whose only crime is to disagree with the administration. As many lies that were told about George Bush, he never turned on individual American citizens and tried to smear them. This is the kind of thing we saw in Nazi Germany when they attacked the Jews just because of their religion. It's the sort of thing that Democrats were doing to blacks in the South up until the early 60's. And if any of you think that they wouldn't do the same thing to you, just remember Joe the Plumber who did nothing but ask a question during a campaign.
09:37 AM on 03/05/2009
Actually, Mr. OMJ2, I expect we will find during the course of the next couple of years that there were no lies told about Mr. Bush. Further, Mr. Bush did not find it necessary to turn on individual American citizens. Instead he campaigned incessantly to paint entire groups who disagreed with him as unpatriotic or even treasonous. Once the facts are fully brought out, they will expose Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney to be nothing more than would be dictators, no better than the petty despots and warlords that populate much of the planet. I don't know whether you are actually an old man, but I am getting there, and I have learned that age is no guarantor of wisdom or understanding if your brain has shut down by middle age.

and some more:
http://home.att.net/~jrhsc/rush.html

"Why should Blacks be heard? They're 12% of the population. Who the hell cares."
"I think this reason why girls don't do well on multiple choice tests goes all the way back to the Bible, all the way back to Genesis, Adam and Eve. God said, 'All right, Eve, multiple choice or multiple orgasms, what's it going to be?' We all know what was chosen"
"Citizen service is a repudiation of the principles upon which our country was based. We are all here for ourselves."
"I don't give a hoot that [Columbus] gave some Indians a disease that they didn't have immunity against"
"‘have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies"
"If the owl can't adapt to the superiority of humans, screw it"

and there is more for those who can stomach it. Also he was paid approx. 33 million in 2007.

“Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.â€
“The most beautiful thing about a tree is what you do with it after you cut it downâ€
“Bigot-A person who wins an argument with a liberalâ€
“The NAACP should have riot rehearsals†“When a gay person turns his back on you, it is anything but an insult; it's an invitationâ€
“They vote with their vaginasâ€
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. ... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." "This is no different than what happens at the Skull and Bones initiation...I'm talking about people having a good time, these people, you ever heard of emotional release? You ever heard of the need to blow some steam off?" --on the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal

Here's a couple more quotes for you that are far more humorous:

"I did not have sex with that woman - Monica Lewinsky" - Bill Clinton

"It all depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is" - Bill Clinton

"There are no earmarks in this stimulus bill" - Obama (he was off by about 9,000)

Pardon me, but I don't see "Republicans" and "Democrats."

I see "Members of Congress," and members of State Legislatures and members of County Commissions and so-forth ...

... who have a very-serious job to do and who are not doing their jobs.

Like it or not, "the election is over." All of you are well-paid to do the job of lawmaking, REGARDLESS OF the color of shirt that you choose to wear.

Every single one of you (at the Federal level) represents the collective interests of nearly half-a-million people. (Take a very large sports stadium and imagine it filled to the brim, and then some.)

THAT is your JOB. And if you don't take that job seriously ... please GET OUT. Let me say it to you nicely... you are FIRED.
