Sarah Palin's wardrobe malfunction of sorts wasn't that big of a deal to me. I went out to talk about it for a video rant, and encountered homophobia in the name of a McCain / Palin supporter. Watch through the end, it's priceless.
What's so priceless is that McCain and Palin have, in fact, refocused the campaign from issues to bigotry and divisive issues. Their supporters have no where to go any more when it comes to issues so they immediately go to race, sexual orientation or things that divide instead of unite.
This video is proof.

The issue is that they purchase and use of the clothes is ILLEGAL. FEC rules are pretty clear:
Under prohibited uses of Chapter 14 of the U.S. Code for use of contributions for certain uses we see:
(b) Prohibited use
(1) In general
A contribution or donation described in subsection (a) of this section shall not be converted by any person to personal use.
(2) Conversion
For the purposes of paragraph (1), a contribution or donation shall be considered to be converted to personal use if the contribution or amount is used to fulfill any commitment, obligation, or expense of a person that would exist irrespective of the candidate’s election campaign or individual’s duties as a holder of Federal office, including-
(A) a home mortgage, rent, or utility payment;
(B) a clothing purchase;
(C) a noncampaign-related automobile expense;
(D) a country club membership;
(E) a vacation or other noncampaign-related trip;
(F) a household food item;
(G) a tuition payment;
(H) admission to a sporting event, concert, theater, or other form of entertainment not associated with an election campaign; and
(I) dues, fees, and other payments to a health club or recreational facility.
Man, I love 'the gays'. I have a few in my family and you won't get a more honest answer EVER than when you get one from my 2 cousins or uncle. They're in your face, but honest and a little flamboyant all at the same time. FABULOUS!!!
Dangerous is precisely what she represents; what the entire extreme right wing represents.
The Republican Party AND mainstream Christianity had better push back and retake control of their respective contingents, because in my view, they are in as much danger as the rest of us.
I think it is wonderful that the RNC went on a shopping spree for Palin and spent $23,000 on a hairdresser. i hope they spent more on her , millions more.
Man, the Palin show should be called: Adults say the darnest(sp?) thing for that witch
That, towards the end, is outrageously painful to watch. Bigotry in action.
Priceless. Joe the Scarborough announced this morning that Nicole Wallace is to blame... Nicole they've turned on you.. after all that loyalist blather you've been spewing for them... oh, well.. if she learns her lesson she'll be towing the Dem line from now on;
Thats on point! Palin brings out the worst is our society. Racist, Bigots, fear mongers and war mongers!
Wonderfully done, Mr. Bouley.
If McCain as Bush-sycophant was not bad enough, the race to the White House became a fight to the death between blind, narrow minded partisans and all right thinking, lovers of good ol' fashioned logic the moment Palin was nominated.
When it comes to Dems vs. Repubs, it often comes down to hope vs. fear (respectively), and it's sad, but it often seems that the further one is to the right, the more filled with fear they are...fear of the unknown, and basically fear of change, and anyone not like them. It's a shame that Republicans take these fears and, rather than try to calm them and reassure them, the use them to try and scare the crap out of these folks...holding them hostage to the Republican party with their own fears, blowing them up into a "picture" of "your worst fears will come true if you vote Democratic". It's xenophopia run amok.
Love it! I have to agree -- her clothes have looked great. Really. Geeze let her bag McCain, bag Alaska, bag the RNC and get her own talk show. Don't let her near the White House. I think Palin might be trainable if she had to put in a few years living in NYC or LA or, gasp! San Francisco. Of course she'd probably have to bag the kids and the husband. Why do I think she wouldn't mind that much?
Absolutely luscious!

Ridiculous..
Michelle Obama does a great job of shopping for and wearing lower cost clothes.. which most Americans can afford...
My wife can't afford the Palin look.. She can afford the Michelle Obama look..
Ibelieve that Michelle is also a sustantial fundraising force.. maybe not as big as Palin, bu still a force..
Sorry.. THE GOP is a bunch of liars and spinmeisters on this..
The clothing expense is an indication of how they handle our money.
Wait a minite-Michelle Obama is a lawyer and probably makes way more money than Palin. Michelle can afford nice clothes. (Her taste is another matter, but anyway) Speaking of Michelle, do you not realize that she is connected with a medical establishment that has donated massive amounts to the campaign. That same establishment has been accused of over-charging uninsured patients over 200%. Obama talks about the crisis in healthcare-he knows from experience because he has done nothing in the state of Illinois about this health-care issue to which his wife and his campaign are connected. Check it out on youtube.
AND?
so what you're saying is is that you're in support of state sponsored universal healthcare?
You must realize that labs charge not just 200% over insurance reimbursement but 1000 % over insurance reimbursement...
This issue is going on in every state of the union... There are no caps on what hospitals can charge or executives get...
Think about the PPL (Pennsylvania Power and Light) where the executive is paid 10 million per year....for his expertise....
one big republican tenant is that they want to pay no taxes, and to use whatever has been collected in taxes to pay for their projects
SNAP!
Apparently he's unfamiliar with Alaska, hey the DO have Nordstrom there.
(At least when I visited there a few years back)
