I used to be an Arianna Huffington supporter. I worked to get family members in California to vote for her in the past primaries. But of late, I've been completely turned off; even adversarial.
I tried to post a denunciation of Charlie Rose's interview with the nefarious Negroponte, and although it was not profane, nor ad hominem, it never appeared. You will note only two responses allowed on this blog.
I have come to believe Huffington is just another Hillary, whose words and actions just don't match up.
After watching the Bill Moyers interview with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, your interview with John Negroponte helped me to regain my balance. Thanks Charlie. I have been depending on you for years to bring me back to the independent thinker I know I am.
Gee Chuck, why bother to ask Negroponte about his connections to death squads in Latin America and that connection to what he was really doing in Iraq?
Charlie Rose: When it comes to the worst of the worst: Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil.
Charlie Rose when interviewing a Liberal or someone from the Left: Affects a baffled look on the face, interrupt repeatedly. Repeat.
If Charlie was around in the 1930's to 40's I can imagine just how an interview with Hitler would have proceeded.
Charlie: Hi Adolf, how's Eva doing? And the dogs? Such a privilege to have you on the show tonight.
I've come to think of Charlie Rose as one who is anamored with the largest trees in the forest, as related to a few of his special interests, without an overall sence, or discussion, of the state of the forest. I realize this critisism is unfair to a host who has brought me such a wide variety of views in the past.
Lately his questions and attitudes do overtly reflect the prevailing moneterist, imperialist, corupt status quo of our plutocratic trickle-down. His slavish admiration of the friedmans / tom & milton contrasts sharply with his recent smirky dismissive interview of Niomi Klein.
How can anyone discussing our occupation of Iraq for the last six years not understand the purposeful swindle perpetrated on the citizens of the US and Iraq.
He seems truely perplexed as to why the Iraqies do not play along with the swindle, and asks the same inane questions of the people most responsible for the swindle. "How's Eva & the dogs" is someting he asks every night of the current reich ministers. The moras only gets deeper when richard pearle and his ilk broadcast without being confronted.
