I had a conversation recently with Mark Penn, chief strategist of the Clinton presidential campaign and author of the new book, Microtrends.
We talked about his book, which builds on his polling strengths.
But we also focused on the presidential race and how he thinks Hillary Clinton is doing.
We talked about how she had overcome high negatives when she first ran for the Senate from New York.

ya know Charlie, I've watched your show, read your articles for quite a number of years. Sometimes I agreed, sometimes I disagreed, but I never really took offense at what you had to say. BUT
You interview(if you want to stretch the definition to the limits) of Eric Prince CEO Blackwater was not bad, it was the most loathsome, toadish piece of excrement I have read in years. It was made worse by who did it...you.
That you produced such a thing at all tells me that things have changed with you...so I will change as well. Your efforts will not be viewed or read by me at any time in the foreseeable future, and at our ages that may mean forever.
If I wish to hear such drivel I will tune into Barbara Walters, Katy Couric, Geraldo.
