1940s pin-up girl Betty Page just got a 2008 makeover, courtesy of Jenna Jameson and PETA. The former porn star and the anti-animal cruelty lobby have teamed up for a steamy new campaign called "Pleather Yourself," (get it?!) which urges fashion slaves to give up their leather addiction in favor of its man-made subsitute! Jenna assumes Betty Page's iconic pose for the new PETA ads, dressed only in a pleather bikini. So is a pleather clothing line in the offing for Ms. Jameson? Find out in my fun L.A. Fashion Week interview with the charming, eco-conscious star. (Follow me at stylehive.com/person/spellingbee for exclusive on-the-ground updates!)

oh, sure...we like we NEED more artificial products...
Oh, we can eat cows and pigs, but we can't make use of their hides, something we've done since the days we hunted- and ate- mammoths.
Waste is good, right?
I am so happy to see such an adorable free spirit offering her voice (et al!) for those who are voiceless. May her campaign with PETA strike a chord with people who might not have thought about eschewing leather. Well done PETA and brava Jenna!
What does wearing leather have to do with ethical treatment of animals? That's like saying eating meat is unethical. I'm afraid SPCA ideas and ideals have been subverted and weakened by PETA to the point of uselessness, It is important to rivive sane animal husbandry ethics and practices to farming, ranching and slaughter. As long as you lump eating a hamburger in with veal crate confinement, you are misleading the public about an important issue.
Respectfully,
mike
