TOLEDO, Ohio — Sen. Joe Biden is apparently getting used to traveling with Sen. Barack Obama, who regularly is interrupted with shouts of "I love you Barack!"
(The Democratic nominee will say, "I love you back.")
But this afternoon during an economic town hall forum with a few hundred voters on the lovely rooftop of a public library, Biden, 65, got the Obama treatment when talking about how he's sure he will have differences with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. John McCain's vice presidential pick.
"Well there's obvious differences, she's good-looking," he said, laughing. "There's obvious differences."
A voter shouted something complimentary and the crowd laughed.
"Where is that person? Who said that? Would you say that again for my wife," Biden asked.
"You are gorgeous!" the woman repeated.
"Could you make sure Jill hears that? I just want to make sure she hears that," he said.
"I haven't heard that in a long, long, long time, and hanging around this lean, young-looking guy is making me feel pretty old, you know what I mean, I thought I was in pretty good shape until I hung out with this guy you know what I mean," he said. "I'm looking good alright, i tell you what."
As everyone laughed, Biden added, "Let me end on a serious note. I was a pretty good football player. We've got to talk further after this."

I think he's better looking now than when he was younger! My friend from Africa says that a beautiful woman with a hard heart is called an "empty beauty". Senator Biden has TRUE beauty. It shines out from inside. I hope it will shine through for people in the debates. When he was campaigning through Iowa, he would stay until everyone got to ask questions. One person saw him offer to help a lady to her car in the snow when it was dark long after everyone had gone. I think he'd be a great Vice President. His humanity and wisdom impresses me over and over again. Not many men like him.....Character counts and he's got it. I hope there will be plenty of his speeches up on You Tube. People need to know how superior he is to Ms. Palin.
hey, post biden's deafening lines from yesterday. seems like him and b are going to kick, slap, and bite back against the misinformation express.
This is a secret, but I've always had the hots for "Way to go Joe"... and seeing him in Springfield, was just magic -- okay, you can continue the love fest.
You are gorgeous, Joe ~ in body and spirit!!!
Love you ~ keep up the great campaign!!! Keep that great smile and that wonderful brain visible to all!
How can what Joe Biden says about Sarah Palin be attacked as "sexist" when practically in the same breath Biden praised OBAMA'S physical attributes!? Geez! This logical point was raised by my teenage daughter.
Love Joe Biden - he is really charming
I think he is sooo fine!! Great smile, but I hope he wipes the floor with Palin!!!!!
doesn't he look like a thicker giorgio armani? hehe
Man, I love that guy! Thank the Heavens that Barack HEARD us supporters & responded with the proper VP pick! We FINALLY have a truly historic Democratic Team that WILL go down in the History books as the most successful and well liked Presidential families, team AND Congress. Bring it on, Johnny Mack & Molly-Moose-Burgers, Barack, Joe & ALL of us are FIRED UP & READY TO GO!!!!!!! Oh, how I love those 2 guys & their fams!!!
Yep, Joe is definitely sex-ay, but more importantly, he'd make a great president if--God forbid--he ever had to take on the job. I don't know whether it makes him sexy or not, but it sure makes him more attractive as a candidate for VP than any beauty queen.
For me, Joe Biden embodies TRUE family values. I've been a fan of his for decades, ever since an interview I saw, done shortly after his family tragedy. The interviewer asked him why he bothered going home every night, and he said (rough paraphrase) "There's no such thing as quality time with kids. They need you when they need you. You can't schedule it. It may happen in the car on the way to the store, but sometime your kid is going to need you, and if you're not there, you've blown it."
Now THAT'S sexy.
OMG. That quote is beautiful.
Joe Biden is a handsome guy. His cheshire cat smile always gets me. But his story, his personality and his intelligence is even more attractive.
The entire Democratic ticket is gorgeous from the top right down to their children and grandchildren. Lovely, compelling, intelligent people with good, wholesome families. They make me proud to be a Democrat.
You said it all! Easy on the eyes, warms the heart and challenges one's thinking, this terrific BOJO team!
We love you and your lovely families!
And to top that off, they've got more than a half a brain between them.
