So, I admit I have already collected a lot of these items and I love to mix and match them. I can tell you from experience, they can take you from work to a cocktail party to hanging with the kids at the park. I focused on affordable priced items that are well made and could easily pass as the $1,000+ luxury versions that sashayed down the fall runways.
The blue aviators add a pop of color to any outfit. The brown and black Sam Edelman ankle boots, go with everything from pants to skirts and dresses this season, the H&M Isabel Marant "inspired" black boots are super stylish and surprisingly comfortable. Between the grey clutch and the two-toned tote you won't need another bag for a long, long time. Those two bags pair with everything and both go day-to-night, work to out-on-the-town. The colorful dress will set you apart, whether at work or a cocktail party and it goes well with all of the above shoes and jackets depending on the look you are going for.
I love the navy color of the leather skirt and chunky knit to change things up a little from the black leather skirts and cream knit sweaters seen everywhere. Though I did go for a cream knit cardigan that you can layer under the blazer, over the dress or wear it with just the grey t-shirt underneath. Trench coats were seen flowing with only the top two buttons buttoned on many Spring runway shows last week.
With these pieces you can stay chic and comfortable wherever you go through fall and winter (add a parka if you live in a cooler climate) and even into spring.
My 19-year-old and I started a fashion site, which showcases the latest trends on two generations, where you can see us in many of these pieces.
You can see us in the two-tone tote, leopard slip ons, the blue aviators, stacking rings, updated boyfriend jeans, orange dresses, leather skirts and statement earrings (just click the links to see the posts with those items!)
