Republicans are trying right now to get away with dismissing this as another "overblown [no pun intended, for sure] media scandal". While running away from Craig at warp speed.
Um, ok guys. You see an "overblown media scandal" was when you tried to impeach Bill Clinton over his personal behavior, and Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Newt Gingrich, David Vitter, Bob Livingston and the rest of your band of self-hating misfits supported it.
Your lead candidate in the presidential race is Rudy Giuliani, who treats marriage like a drive-thru at McDonalds. Then there is dream candidate Fred Thompson, whose girlfriend and FORMER wife was probably not dreaming of having him impregnate her in high school.
This is NOT a media scandal. It is your whole damn party. It is why I do Republican Sexcapades every Thursday (8AM EST) on The Young Turks. And I have to eliminate topics each week.
You guys love the Bible. Try practicing the Golden Rule and then maybe, maybe, I'll have some sympathy.
Oh, and finally, do you think Hugh Hewitt's inviting David Dreier on his show to talk about it and MSNBC's having Armstrong Williams on for a discussion of this topic really makes sense? For those who don't understand, just google their names and get creative about what else you throw in. Then you'll get it.
You know, Clinton, at least, had a relationship with Monica, one might say even had affection for her. She certainly had affection for him. By all accounts, she was a spirtied, sexy and intelligent girl. They talked and laughed. That situation seems to be several steps up the developmental ladder from the behavior engaged in by Vitter, Foley, Craig. Anoymous sex, paying a prostitute, seducing young boys.
Don't ask, don't tell?
Oh, go to hell.
It's just another Republican
"family values" blow-job.
I guess the "cop lied" and it would be too much trouble to insist on a jury trial and clear one's "good" name. Besides, without the "benefit of counsel" - and you can get a free consultation, you just plead guilty - nolo contendere.
Usually the judge makes you stipulate to a "factual basis" of the charges, and that you were not coerced into the plea. having a wide stance usually isn't enough.
According to gay bloggers, there is a characteristic about Larry Craig that many "observers" have independently noticed.
When Michael Jackson was accused back in 1993, the MSM couldn't get enough of the story. Michael went on TV and complained about the short arm inspection. Well? Would Mr. Craig like to show the proof of the putting to clear his good name, or would he prefer to stick with the "cop lied" and the bloggers are mistaken.
Come on Mr. Craig - let's prove these guys wrong and end ToiletGate once and for all. Show us the evidence. I didn't solicit sex with that man!
Nothing wrong with being gay, just being a hypocrite and a politician who is anti-gay.
How many Republicans have stuffed themselves into a closet?
All of them! To a Republican, the closet is the MOST exciting place in a house of cards.
LOL
Web this A.M.:
--that the WaPo believes that there are comic strips too hot for prime time.
--that gay Republicans have a kind of mating dance, a toe-tapping tap dance, performed in
public restrooms. And they always struck me as Conga Line sort of guys! (Not that there's anything wrong with it.)
Things I Didn't Know Before I Read Cliff
Schecter's blog:
--"The Young Turks" Quickly put in my "favorites" and I'm not even Armenian! (Not that there's anything at all wrong with Armenians.)
--David Dreier-- who he?
--Now you see, I'm so old I thought the Armstrong was something you consult before placing a bet in the First @ Saratoga. But evidently there's this "Armstrong Williams." Now there's a Republican name if I've ever heard one.
Even if he's not a Republican, I bet he's rich.
You DID NOT just state 'It's just another way for gays to not accept responsibility for their lifestyles" DID YOU!?! You are JOKING - NO?!?
You ACTUALLY just managed to make a deeply troubled hypocrite the responsibility of all gay people in the universe. Oh yeah - it is because he is gay and that is the way gay is.
His trouble is that he is not at one with himself - your problem is that you are a homophobe.
Hate to break the news atombee but addiction to money and power is a common trait among nearly all humans. So technically you're correct, it's a gay thing. But it's also a straight thing. And a white thing, and a black thing too! This is starting to sound like a Seuss book. Hell, even the star-bellied Sneetches were addicted to power. And don't get me started on the Lorax...
