I read yesterday that these doucheweasels were going to get record-breaking bonuses again. Which is it.

Arrrrggghhhh.   Just shoot me.   No wait, let's pick a different target ...

NNNNooooooo.     No violence.    That would play into their hands.    We'll do this the Gandhi way, with active nonviolent resistance,  force them to change, force our polarized government to change, refocus on citizens rather than corporate underwriters.

If anyone one believes that Artuer Anderson accounting technigues have gone away just because they are gone is very misguided. The best thing in the world for Goldman right now is to show loses to keep away any focus on themselves as the presure builds for corporations and individuals to be held accountable for their actions. You can bet full saleries and bonuses will be paid no matter what their fraudulant accounting or deliberate actions shows.

If anyone here wants to understand who were the folks that cause this mess ,jsut go to alternet. ,top ten corrupt CEOs . You will learn the who, how and why. You will learn that to this day some of these people are still in washington. Still manipulating the system . The truth is out there . All one needs to do is look.Then write to your elected senator congressman ,who ever. Do it now. Go look for yourself

This might be yet another horrible sign for the economy and "double dip" but knowing that GoldmanSachs is suffering just a little bit makes me smile.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:

“Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to d__ie, and then di__es having never really lived.

Great comment. The Business "News" headlines on HP and Daily Finance must be writtten by failed National Enquirer writers.... They obviously get paid by how many "hits" their article gets.... The plethora of 24/7 news and opinion sources (which rarely admit to which is which) is killing our Country. Much of what they say is conjecture, with screaming headlines that are intended to get their readers' blood pressures up.... who cares if they even bother reading past the headlines.... My guess is that this writier's career is much more bleak than Goldman's future prospects - unless the media can create a panic where perception trumps reality.....

I wonder if Goldman is manipulating it's losses as part of an "oh woe is me" PR campaign?

Looks like conservatives might have to hook them up with another huge bailout.

They are doing such a bang up job there at Goldman I am sure they will all receive very large bonuses for all their hard work running the world economy into the ground. We must reward excellence!

It's easy to have no losses when you can extract bailouts from the government by making threats.  It's easy to have no losses when you have an employee running the US Treasury in every administration.  Goldman didn't earn those profits.
05:53 PM on 10/11/2011
How can the headline say that the outlook for Goldman Sachs is bleak when this is their second loss EVER?? Makes no sense. Would love to know who writes these headlines.

Goldman is connected with the world market. With all of the world economies tanking I can see this loss.
