Humans suck much of the time. Cats will love you unconditionally.

This story almost made me cry. All 3 of my cats were picked up off the street. This cat looks like my 22 pound Norwegian Forest cat that I picked up off the street after someone dumped him in my neighborhood. It is so sad how we treat animals in this country and how many pet owners are irresponsible.

Glad you saved some cats. Wish people would spay and neuter their cats and this problem would be minimized.

She looks completely unfazed by the experience. I hope no permanent damage was done, and she finds a good home. She looks like a good kittie :)

It took me a second to get the Church reference. Thanks for the additional clue!

What would our future 7th generation think of us?

We have four pet cats that stay indoors, and we've been feeding a feral female cat that had taken up residence in our yard. This summer, she had a litter of three kittens, and two of them survived, having become half-grown now. Their mama taught them that our back door was the place to receive nightly meals for free. They are all so cute, sitting there outside the door every night, patiently and quietly waiting to be fed as they stare up at the door window.

We made the decision to catch them and take them to the animal shelter, where they stand a good chance of being adopted. I borrowed a box trap and caught the two kittens last night. We took one to the shelter, but the other one escaped into the house, where it's hiding out somewhere. I tricked the mama into coming into the house tonight, and now she is hiding behind the clothes dryer. Catching these cats will be a difficult endeavor, no doubt, since we don't even know where the little one is.

I hope they're adopted. I found a feral mother and 3 kittens in my yard 13 years ago: I bought a humane trap, caught them, took them to the vet got their shots, had them spayed and neutered, and brought them home. They have food and shelter and 2 have become very tame over the years. It depends where you live, but many shelters are nothing more than a death sentence. Some areas have no-kill rescue organizations and they are wonderful.

Oh my mother does that when she can. She catches all the feral cats in the neighborhood and takes them to the vet for shots and to get "fixed." If she can't keep them she lets them go again, but they can, at least no longer breed. She took in a few of the cats, and at one time she had as many as 6 cats in the house and was feeding a feral cat in the backyard that she couldn't catch. She's down to three cats now, as she gave away two and one died of old age, and even though two of her cats are outdoor cats, she has no kittens, because everything that comes in her house is fixed right off.
