Repealing legal equality in marriage for gays and lesbians in New Hampshire will help no one. However, a repeal will do harm to gay or lesbian couples especially those 20-25% that are raising children. Shame on Perry and the New Hampshire GOP for proposing to harm people's rights.

If your not a straight, rich, white, male, then you have no rights according to Perry and the GOPbaggers. Only corporations and millionaires count.

I'm sick of the personal opinions of politicians interfering with the lives of everyone else. I don't care what you 'believe' marriage is. Equality and justice equals marriage for all citizens, gay or straight, protected by the law. No one has to marry someone of the same gender (or anyone at all), so the only thing these ideas protect is the warm, fuzzy feeling you get from telling others you are right and everyone else is wrong. So, lose the self-righteousness and start acting like a responsible and thoughtful representative of our democracy, thanks very much.

The folks getting sued by gender-segregated couples are not getting the "warm, fuzzy feeling" you talk about. The problem with gender-segregated marriage is that it imposes someone else's religion on others. They impose their religion of same-sex attraction in sex ed classes at school, their worship of homosexuality in classes in California, and when businesses decline to cater to gender-segregated couples, they get sued. Gender-segregated marriage ends up "interfering with the lives of everyone else."

I've posted this several times as this seems to be an issue that the GOP continues to churn out as a talking point when it's more than likely meant as a distraction from other policy failures.

Same-sex marriage is a constitutionally-supported process and should never been infringed upon. The question for consideration: Is marriage a religious covenant or a legal and contractual arrangement?

If, in the first case, it is a religious covenant then surely the First Amendment means that we have the right to practice the tenets of our religious affiliation. Numerous religious organizations (whether they be pagan, Universalist, Christian, Jewish, Hindu or even Muslim) have begun to recognize that same-sex marriage is acceptable by their own beliefs or scriptures. Thereby, as a religious practice this is protected.

If, in the second case, it is a legal arrangement, then it is a commitment that any consenting adult can enter into. No other legal arrangement or contract can be restricted from an individual based on gender, race, etc. Why this one? Thereby, as a legal arrangement this is protected.

I can't wait for the day when an argument on this is brought before the Supreme Court and the simple logic is evaluated and all Americans will be granted equal rights.

With this supreme court it may not turn out the way you think it will. After all, they declare that corporations are people too.

It's an issue for the individual states to decide, but if they decide wrong it's tantrum time from the outsider.

If marriage equals children being raised in a loving home by a mother and father, then he should be campaigning to outlaw divorce, too.

It's actually gender-segregated marriage. You don't have to be gay.

I would guess that repealing marriage equality would kill jobs... Consider wedding planners, formal-ware makers, cake makers, caterers, DJ's, bands, photographers, drag queens, all losing their GLBT market.

I try to see both sides of every argument, I really do. I don't see how there can even be two sides to these issues. Republicans: EVERYONE deserves equal rights. I don't understand how people can be so self righteous as to think only people of a certain group should have these rights. Shame on you...all of you who believe that.

"Traditional marriage"?

As in, daddy trades his 13-year old daughter to a 30-year old man who already has 4 wives for 2 goats and a basket of furs?

Really?

Clueless.

If you think your 'traditional' marriage is under attack because two women you've never met are going to civilly marry each other, then you have problems.

And no need to conserve resources or acknowledge climate change and it's possible effects on many of those resources. A life with your head in the sand is so carefree. The Republican Party should rename itself the Alfred E. Newman party. What? Me worry?

Women do not get late term abortions because they changed their mind about having a baby. They have them because of serious medical reasons. Never forget that when you decide to judge a women who was not only ill but lost the child she wanted.
