Is there a double standard for suspected child sexual abusers/abusers who are prominent vs those who aren't? Can you imagine the years of silent suffering these kids went through before someone would finally listened. Again look at the Judge in TX, these victims have to wait years before someone will believe them . Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse experience daily emotional torture and they carry it with them their entire lives. Plus if there is no physical evidence of these crimes (and rarely there is), these predators continue to leave behind a wave of destruction.

There's a double standard for participants in a bajillion-dollar athletic program.

Agreed, typically money equals power resulting in preferential treatment.

Well, duh ... how some of these people could sleep at night knowing what they knew is incredible. Not a single call to the police from any of them. PSU football must run that university.

Paterno was told of one incident, and immediately went to Curley. Curley, according to what I've read, didn't take it any further. But Paterno still knew about it. Wouldn't you think Paterno would have followed up with Curley on something as serious as sexual abuse, and gone to the police very, very shortly after learning Curley had done nothing?

So why isn't JoePa being charged as well? Or did he suddenly not have an obligation to report what HE knew to police because he's the bread and butter of Penn State?

Good question. Maybe JoePa is too big to be charged? The cover up continues.
